Transition Story of 10CM
10CM was South Korean indie band, with Kwon Jung-yeol as vocalist and guitarist Yoon Cheol-jong. The band debuted in 2010 and their first album, 1.0, sold more than 200,000 copies, which was an impressive feat, since most indie music fans usually download music online. Since their debut, the band has been a rookie among other Korean bands. They won “This Year’s Discovery Award” at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards and “Best Pop Song Award” at the 2011 Korean Music Awards. In 2012, they released their second album, 2.0, and their single “Fine Thank You and You?” was nominated for Best Band Performance and Song of the Year at the 2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards. In July, 2017, Magic Strawberry Sound confirmed that 10CM’s Yoon Cheol-jong had left the group due to health issues and the end of his contract. After he left the group, 10CM didn’t add a new member and Kwon Jung-yeol continued to perform alone under the 10CM name.
Kwon Jung-yeol Hardships as a Soloist
After Yoon Cheol-jong left the duo in 2017, Kwon Jung-yeol continued to promote as the single member of 10CM. When he performed on Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook as a soloist, he talked about the hard time he faced as a soloist after his partner, Yoon Cheol-jong, left the band. He said that at first when he standing alone he was shocked, flustered, and experienced difficulties, but now he is doing fine.

In March 2019, 10CM finally made his long-awaited comeback with the EP ‘4.3‘. The singer dropped his single album along with the music videos for the title track, ‘However‘, and b-side track, ‘Storage (With Galaxy Fan)’. Kwon Jung-yeol also had a duet with Eunji Apink.
