Marcell Ozuna 10 Fast Facts, Biography, Wiki
Ozuna is married to Genesis Guzman. As of May 2017, the couple has three children. On May 29, 2021, Ozuna was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and battery after police allegedly witnessed him grabbing his wife by the neck and throwing her against a wall. Owns good home-run power, thanks largely to great hands. Also owns an outstanding throwing arm in the outfield. Can play any outfield position. Does not draw enough walks and strikes out a bit too much, mainly because he tends to chase breaking balls out of the strike zone a little too often in MLB. Long Range Potential: Inconsistent, toolsy power-hitting outfielder. Professional baseball left fielder Marcell Ozuna is a left-fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his debut in April 2013 and has convincingly demonstrated that he is a player who cannot be pushed aside when it comes to who is who in MLB. Marcell, whose full name is Marcell Ozuna Idelfonso, comes from the Dominican Republic. He was born on November 12, 1990, in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic. He is obviously of Dominican nationality but comes from an African ethnic group. His family was then middle class, and Marcell Ozuna grew up with his two sisters and a brother. His father reportedly worked as a painter, while his mother earned her husband’s income by working as a housekeeper with her mother. Baseball was a game not unfamiliar to the Ozuna’s, as Marcell’s uncle Pablo Ozuna was a former baseball player. Marcell Ozuna fueled his interest in baseball by playing as often as time allowed. In the process, he honed his batting and pitching skills by setting himself apart from the rest of the team. It wasn’t long before he gained recognition beyond the borders of his country. On February 15, 2008, he signed his first contract with the Florida Marlins American baseball team from Florida as an uncalled-up free player. He continued to play in the summer league of his home country, where he scored 79 goals with 6 home runs and 43 RBI, and 8 SB in a total of 63 games. In 2009, Marcell began playing for the Gulf Coast League Marlins, where he scored 313 goals in 5 home runs and 39 runs in 55 games. At that point, it was only fitting that Marcell Ozuna’s skill should be rewarded as he moved up the ladder in his career. In 2012, he has promoted to A-Advanced baseball team Jupiter, and the following year, the sharp hitter made his MLB debut with the Miami Marlins on April 30, 2013. Marcell Ozuna had regular playing time in 2014, playing 153 games, beating 269 games in which he scored 23 home runs and 85 RBI. In 2016, Marcel Ozuna impressed in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game 2016, where he played for the National League. He became the 8th player to score at least 35 home runs in the league. On December 14, 2017, he was brought to the Cardinals of St. Louis to make room for Sandy Alcántara, Magneuris Sierra, Zac Gallen, and Daniel Castano to join the Marlins. According to reports from January 2018, the deal was worth $9 million on a one-year contract. In the course of his young career, he has been honored with the following laurels: Silver Slugger Award (2017), All-Star (2016-017), and Gold Glove Award (2017). As he continues to play, we expect him to receive even more honors and awards.
