Twice‘s Japanese debut album titled #TWICE which was released on June 28, 2017, was a success. The debut album made Twice get a lot of fans in Japan. JYP Entertainment announced in January 2019 that Twice would release their second Japanese compilation album in March. Twice’s second Japanese compilation album is titled #TWICE2 and was released on March 6, 2019. This album contains 10 songs with the title track “Likey (Japanese Ver).” The other 9 songs are “Heart Shaker,” “What Is Love?,” “Dance the Night Away,” and “Yes or Yes” in Japanese and Korean versions as well as the Korean version of “Likey.” “Dance the Night Away (Japanese Ver.)” is the fourth track on the #TWICE2 album. As the title suggests, this song is about the joy of dancing all night long.

After announcing that Twice would release a second Japanese compilation album in January, Twice released a spoiler video. Twice Performed “Dance the Night Away (Japanese Ver.)” at Dreamday Concert
Twice held a Japanese tour in 2019. The tour was titled Twice Dome Tour 2019 “#Dreamday.” This tour is held in 3 cities in Japan. They performed on March 20 and 21, 2019, in Osaka, March 29 and 30, 2019, in Tokyo, and on April 6, 2019, in Nagoya, Japan. The tour was attended by 220,000 people. This was Twice’s special tour in Japan. On this tour, Twice performed several of their Japanese versions of their hits such as “Like Ooh-Ahh (Japanese Ver.),” “Signal (Japanese Ver.),” “TT (Japanese Ver.),” “Cheer Up (Japanese Ver.),” and “Dance the Night Away (Japanese Ver.).” When performing “Dance the Night Away (Japanese Ver.),” Twice wore all-white costumes with backup dancers. They performed the “Dance the Night Away (Japanese Ver.)” remix version. The concert was held at the Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan.

Twice also achieved a platinum certificate from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). This is not the first award for Twice.
