Boe met his wife Sarah while rehearsing La Bohème in San Francisco. They have two children, a daughter, Grace, and a son, Alfred Robert.[29] He is a member of the Grand Order of Water Rats. Boe was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2019 Birthday Honours for services to music and charity. On 24 August 2020, Boe announced that he and his wife Sarah had separated and that everything was “very amicable”. He was born on 29 September 1973 in Blackpool, and is the youngest of nine children. Alfie’s full name is Alfred Giovanni Roncalli Boe but he doesn’t have a drop of Italian blood. His mother was Irish and his dad was a Norwegian. He was named after Pope John 23rd whose last name was Roncalli. Alfie Boe is 5’10” – 1.78m. Alfie was married to Sarah Boe, who he met while rehearsing La bohème in San Francisco. The couple got married in 2004 and they have two children together; a daughter called Grace and a son called Alfred Robert. When Alfie’s mum was expecting him, she was watching a band on TV. As the drummer suddenly burst into a solo, Alfie kicked inside his mum’s belly and knocked off a cup of tea that was resting on it. Alfie used to work as dressing room security in music venues to some big names like Tom Jones and Pet Shop Boys. Once, young Alfie was singing while polishing cars at a sports car factory near Blackpool when a client told him he should audition for the D’Oyly Carte opera company. He did – and got a year-long job singing in the chorus. Alfie and Michael met when they were co-stars in a production of the musical Kismet in London. In 2017 Alfie teamed up with Michael Ball to produce one of the year’s most successful classical albums – ‘Together’. The album featured some of the best-known songs from the musicals. The album went double platinum so the pair recorded a follow-up called ‘Together Again’. Alfie Boe starred in a production of Carousel with mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins at the London Coliseum in April 2017.
