Reynolds was born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and attended Matraville Sports High School. He and his older brother Wayne Reynolds were born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Reynolds played his junior rugby league for St Peters JRLFC, Alexandria Rovers, La Perouse Panthers and Kensington United in the South Sydney Juniors competition.
